Welcoming in the 25th Anniversary year of the Jasmin Vardimon Company

The Jasmin Vardimon Company is celebrating its 25th Anniversary year and the first year of JV H.O.M.E., its purpose-built building – the only building for a choreographer outside of London.

Jasmin Vardimon MBE is a leading force in British dance theatre and has built her distinctive trademark through her unique theatrical approach, creative observation, and socio-political thematic interest. Over the past 25 years, there have been hundreds of performances, 17 company productions, numerous commissions for reputable venues, companies, and organisations, and 13 JV2 cohorts – the Professional Development Diploma that launched in 2012. The company’s vision of nurturing talent and potential has been at the heart of what we do and has led to a large amount of educational and community projects.

Jasmin Vardimon speaks on the anniversary and its achievements “Now after a whole year in JV H.O.M.E, I’m delighted to continue to share more unique artistic opportunities and experiences with our audiences and community. To nurture, develop, and inspire through the art of dance”.

ALiCE, Jasmin Vardimon’s latest production, will be performed on Friday 8th, and Saturday 9th December 2023 at JV H.O.M.E. Ashford, Kent. ALiCE has been heavily praised for its extreme physicality, thematic visuals, and kinetic scenery. North West End gave ALiCE a 5-star review with a highlight of the ‘arresting images and thought-provoking choreography’.

Following the Saturday performance of ALiCE, there will be a Creative Minds Symposium taking place on Saturday at 4:30 pm where you are invited to join and listen to a panel of leading thinkers, contemporary philosophers, and creative minds to analyse, respond to, and debate the critically acclaimed production.

ALiCE will tour around venues in the UK in January 2024 – Connaught Theatre in Worthing, Richard Burton Theatre, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield, DanceEast in Ipswich, and Taliesin Arts Centre in Swansea – before touring internationally later in the year. Booking links for all performances can be found on the Jasmin Vardimon website. (jasminvardimon.com)

The December performances of ALiCE will take place in JV H.O.M.E., the Company’s purpose-built building in Ashford, Kent that opened to the public exactly a year ago. Jasmin Vardimon and the team of staff and dancers are all very proud to call this spectacular building their home of creativity.

JV H.O.M.E. is a huge achievement, with it being the only building built for a choreographer-led organisation, outside of London. The building is supported by the Arts Council England, SELEP, and Ashford Borough Council, Kent County Council. Alison Tedbury, Executive Director speaks on the achievements, ‘the work we do would not be possible without the generous support of Arts Council England, various trusts & foundations, and corporate partnerships.

With a new year comes a new company and a new production.
JVyoU is a Company launching in January 2024 for young people aged between 12 – 18 years old to nurture their creativity.

The Jasmin Vardimon Company will premiere a new production in 2024 to celebrate the Company’s 25th Anniversary year. Jasmin will use her distinctive observations and theatrical approach to convey a story of our times, the production will integrate new technology and robotics. Dates, venues, and more information to be announced soon…

The Jasmin Vardimon Company invites you all to join us in celebrating the achievements and creativity curated over the past 25 years and to look forward to all that is to come.
