André Rebelo


André was born in Portugal 1990 and moved to England at the age of 11. André began his professional training in 2011 at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where he graduated with BA Hons Degree. André then decided to further develop his dance training by attending the JV2 Professional Development Course, where he was given the opportunity to work with various choreographers such as Marilena Dara, Mafalda Deville and Athanasia Kanellopoulo, as well as working alongside Jasmin Vardimon Company in the production of ‘Maze’.

After JV2 André worked on a short dance film for Magnum directed by Aoi & Esteban and became a teacher at Addict Dance Academy as well as an Educational Facilitator for Jasmin Vardimon, whilst performing for the Royal Opera House in the productions of ‘Tannahaüser’ in the ballet scene choreographed by Jasmin Vardimon, and ‘The Nose’ by Otto Pilcher, as well as the ‘Walk Into Space’ with IJAD Dance Company, and teaching morning classes at Greenwich Dance for Cathy Waller Company. In May 2017, André became a dancer for Jasmin Vardimon Company joining the tour of ‘Pinocchio’. During this time he was also able to lead Gulbenkian Youth Company throughout the year, as well as a week intensive at The Place for the CAT programme leading classes and the creation of the work ‘Limbo’.

Currently André is working on Jasmins’ new creation ‘Medusa’, and most recently he has been commissioned to create for the JV2 2018 tour.
