Jasmin Vardimon Company has created a reputation for producing visually stunning and narrative driven contemporary dance theatre. The Company are seeking to appoint a freelance Production Manager to work on Jasmin Vardimon’s new work.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience of touring with large/mid-scale dance or theatre shows and a good all-round technical knowledge. The new show will be performed on a large revolve with performer flying, experience of both is required. Ideally you will be based in the South East of England or London.
The role involves:
Managing and participating in the creation period and production weeks in Canterbury, Kent (with some activity taking place in Ashford, Kent), and subsequent national and international touring of the show along with all associated scheduling, venue liaison and Health & Safety paperwork.
Working closely with the Director/Choreographer and other department heads to make decisions regarding set, costume, lighting and other aspects of the production and ensure these are within the budget of the production.
Taking responsibility for accurate and up to date communication alongside Producer, Tour Co-Ordinator and General Manager.
Appointing the technical team for the production, alongside the Director.
The dates for availability are set out below (subject to change).
2nd and 3rd November 2020; paid trial days with current team in Ashford, Kent
Successful candidate would then be appointed, and would be required on a flexible, mostly remote basis between November 2020 and March 2021 with some in-person meetings to be confirmed.
From April 2021, the company goes into creation in Canterbury, Kent, leading up to a production week in early July 2021, and premiere at the end of August 2021. This will be followed by subsequent touring.
A full schedule will be shared with the appointed Production Manager.
For all work once appointed until the premiere, the fee offered is £10,000 to include all expenses.
Once the work is touring, the Production Manager’s weekly rate would be £600, plus per diems. Travel and accommodation to be arranged by the Company.
